Council Motion on All-Ireland National Suicide Authority

Motion:

"That Cork City Council is alarmed at the steady rise in suicide rates in Ireland in recent years, calls on the Government to increase funding to organisations & services active in suicide prevention and support for families affected by suicide. Council calls for an All Ireland National Suicide Authority to be set up with the aim of synchronizing the efforts of all anti-suicide organisations and creating clarity and unity in suicide prevention."
